How to post a video to YouTube as a YouTube Short
Vertical videos in a 9:16 aspect ratio that run 3 minutes or less are published to YouTube as Shorts automatically, so there's no extra step to mark them.
What happens with 9:16 videos
When you publish a 9:16 video to YouTube through Klaas, it's posted as a Short. YouTube recognizes the vertical format and categorizes it correctly without any action from you.
Why this helps
Automatic Shorts handling keeps your workflow simple:
- No manual categorizing.
- Your vertical videos reach the right audience on YouTube.
- You save time when publishing to several platforms at once.
- Your content is formatted the way the Shorts feed expects.
How to use it
- Prepare your video in a 9:16 aspect ratio, 3 minutes or less.
- Upload it in the composer at Create.
- Publish now or schedule it — it'll be posted as a Short automatically.
One thing to note: the link returned after publishing is the standard YouTube video link, not a Shorts link. To confirm how it was published, open your channel's content dashboard, go to Content, then the Shorts tab, where all your Shorts are listed.
